
Solidarity with the People of Toulouse
The day after the disaster, Total set aside a fund of several million euros to help all the inhabitants of Toulouse who were affected by the explosion. An unprecedented mobilisation of the Group in support of local companies and their employees.
Sustained mobilisation
The day after the disaster, Total made available several million euros for emergency assistance to disaster victims.
On 28 September 2001, the Group, in conjunction with the French Red Cross, also set up a fund of 3 million euros of follow-up aid for the people most seriously affected by the disaster. This fund was managed directly by Red Cross, which mobilised 1,400 volunteers to carry out its actions in Toulouse.
More than 75 other social actions were carried out over a 3-year period (prior to and in addition to compensation), particularly:

Assistance to keep companies in operation
The disaster also had a severe impact on businesses located in the area surrounding the site. Various measures were therefore taken to keep them in operation.
